Ms. Yasgur is the Director of the Jewish Community Library of Los Angeles. She holds a Master of Science in Library Information Science from Simmons College in Boston, MA. She worked as reference librarian at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. -- at the Gutman Library which is part of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and at the Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America, which is part of Radcliffe College.
Ms. Yasgur was a librarian in a Los Angeles Jewish day school for 5 years before joining the Jewish Community Library and the Bureau of Jewish Education in 1996.
Abigail is a member of the Association of Jewish Libraries-National and serves as co-chair of its public relations committee, the Association of Jewish Libraries/Southern California, and serves on the Board of Directors, American Libraries Association, and California Library Association.
Abigail is the co-author of Max Said Yes! The Woodstock Story a children's picture book, lushly illustrated by artist Barbara Mendes. Max Said Yes! The Woodstock Story communicates the spirit and times of Summer 1969. It will be available in late 2008, in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary (August 1969) of the Woodstock Festival at farmer Max Yasgur's farm.
